One WordPress install is one site. Staging copies you create with 1-click staging don't count toward your limit, so you can test freely.

Visits are our estimate of how much traffic a plan handles comfortably, based on total monthly requests to your site. Caching and the CDN stretch that a long way. An occasional spike is fine and nothing changes. If you consistently exceed your plan, we send an alert and offer a one-click upgrade. There are no surprise overage charges.

Yes. Every plan from Starter 2 up accepts extra sites at $20 per site per month, added from your dashboard. If you're adding several, the next level up is usually the cheaper route, and the picker above accounts for that.

We typically recommend Business or above, although smaller sites can usually get by with Starter. Stores, communities, and courses serve logged-in visitors, which page caching can't help with. Business plans add KeyDB & Redis Object Cache and 2x auto-scaling, which is what keeps those sites fast under load. Performance adds Elastic Search for WooCommerce for large catalogs.
